Mint Green and Gold

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today, I have a fun manicure I did not too long ago with a couple of green polishes.  I used a turquoise creme as a base by Lenora Nail Colors (a new to me indie polish I discovered on Instagram).  I then added a coat of Nostalgic Nail Lacquer Duckie, a green jelly with glitter.  Finally, I added gold stamping using an image from the Pueen Celebration Collection Lace Blossom plate.

Here's a look at Penthouse Sweet on its own.

And a look at Duckie on its own.

I really love Penthouse Sweet.  It's such a pretty shade.  Duckie is pretty too, but I was disappointed that it was so sheer is on its own.

Here's one more look at the final manicure.

I just loved wearing this manicure.  Green and gold are so pretty together.

What do you think of this combo?

I was really pleased with these polishes.  They all apply really well and provided great coverage in just two coats.  Even Quite Gentle, Really, as sheer as it is, still looked really nice on its own.  They're also really pretty colors.

What do you guys think of these polishes?

DSG - Raspberry Sherbet

Hi everyone!!

Today I have a gorgeous polish from a new, to me, brand called DSG.  DSG stands for Dark Skin Girls.  It's a line that was created to compliment darker skin tones, but anyone can wear them, of course.

Raspberry Sherbet is such a pretty pinkish-purple creme.  The formula is pretty good.  It applied really well, but was thinner than I expected.  There was still slight VNL after two coats.

On my ring and pinky fingers, I did some double stamping using images from the Pueen Celebration Collection Lace Blossom plate.  It's a really large plate with lots of girly images.

Here's a look at the stamping plate.

I really love how this mani turned out!  Raspberry Sherbet is a real beauty.

Hi everyone!!

For Twinsie Tuesday, we doing a technique we love, but haven't tried in a while.  I decided to do a fan brush design on my nails.  I used several Ruby Nail polishes for this look.

OPI - Honk if You Love OPI

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today, I have a vampy shade to share with you, Honk If You Love OPI.  It's from the Fall 2011 Touring America collection.

Honk if You Love OPI is a dark purple with an okay formula.  It's slightly patchy, but it was opaque in two coats.  Here I used no top coat.

This is a really nice vampy shade, perfect for fall/winter.  What do you guys think of it?  Did you ever pick it up?

GOSH - Gasoline

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today, I have a lovely polish to share with you from GOSH.

I got Gasoline in a swap years ago from Crystal.  It's a purple packed with holographic shimmer.  The formula is pretty good.  It's opaque in three coats and applies really well.  I used no top coat.

I think Gasoline is sooooo pretty!!!  I just love the sparkly shimmer in it.

Prevail - Happy Hour

Hi everyone!!

I have a polish to share with you that's been sitting in my untrieds for years.  It's from a brand called Prevail which I found in Duane Reade.  That's actually the only place I've seen the brand sold.  I picked up quite a few colors, but am only now trying it.

Happy Hour is a lovely purple creme.  It has a great formula; it's opaque in two easy coats.  Here I used two coats with no top coat.

I really love this shade of purple and I love the formula even more.  I hope the other polishes have formulas that are just as great.

What do you guys think of Happy Hour?  Have you ever tried this brand?

Twinsie Tuesday - Shiny and Matte Combo

Hi everyone!!

For this week's Twinsie Tuesday prompts, we're sharing shiny and matte combos.

For this mani, I used Sally Hansen Scaredy Matte (a black matte polish) as a base.  I then added a stripe of No. 7 Tangy, an bright orange crelly, and lines of gold with a striper.

Artificial Light
I really liked how this turned out.  The contrast of the bright orange shiny polish against the black matte is pretty awesome.

What do you guys think of this mani?  Do you do matte and shiny nail art?

OPI - The Flowers Are Blue-Ming

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today, I have a sparkly blue polish to share with you.

The Flowers Are Blue-Ming was an Ulta exclusive in 2012.  It's a sheer jelly with lots of holographic microglitter.  It still had VNL after three coats, so it's best layered.    I used no top coat.

I really like how this polish sparkles.  I'm looking forward to trying it again over a similar color.

What do you think of The Flowers Are Blue-Ming?  Did you ever get your hands on this one?

Bettina - Ocean

Hi everyone!!

I have a lovely turquoise nail polish to share with you from Bettina.  Ocean is a turquoise creme with an okay formula.  It required three coats for full opacity.  Here I used three coats with no top coat.

Aphrodite Lacquers - Capulets

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today, I have a polish from Aphrodite Lacquers to share with you.  Capulets is a white crelly base with a mixture of blue, purple, pink and green glitters.  Unfortunately it's not very opaque on its own and needs a white base.  Here I used three coats with no base and you could still see VNL and it's also pretty streaky.  I used no top coat in these swatches.

Artificial Light

This is a really pretty polish; I love the mixture of glitters.  I just wish it was more opaque though :(.

Finger Paints - Pop Rock Pink

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

For Pink Wednesday, I have a Finger Paints polish to share with you.  The title is Pop Rock Pink, but it's more of a coral shimmer.  It's pretty thin and even with three coats, there was VNL.  It applied well though.

Artificial Light

This is a really pretty color.  I love the shimmer in it.  I just wish it was more opaque.

Nail Fabulosity - Orange Sunrise

Hi everyone!!

This week the Twinsies are revisiting a theme that they missed.  I didn't miss many themes, except for when I was dealing with my really tough pregnancy last summer.  I chose the simplest theme that I could because, well, life is just super hectic right now.  So I chose to swatch an indie.

Orange Sunrise is from a brand that's fairly new to me, Nail Fabulosity.  This is the second polish I'm trying from this brand.  This one is a thermal polish and it shifts from yellow to orange based on the temperature.  I love it!!  The formula is great (opaque in two easy coats) and the colors are just really nice.   Here I used two coats with Seche Vite.

I really like this polish a lot!! I'm not really into thermal polishes, but this one is really a nice one.

What do you guys think of Orange Sunrise?  Do you like wearing thermal polishes?

Don't forget to visit the other Twinsies to see the themes they revisited!
