Bloggers Choice - 30 Days of Colour

Hi everyone!!

Today's the last day of the #30DaysofColourChallenge for May.  Once again it was a fun experience.  It's the bloggers' choice today, so I decided to use three of my Julie G polishes I recently purchased, Oh Em Gee!, Bikini and Fierce & Fab.

For this mani, I created a gradient with the three polishes over Julie G White Orchid (a white creme). Then I stamped a flower image from UberChic 3-02 using White Orchid.

I love how bright this mani is!!  The stamping image is pretty awesome too.  I'm really loving this plate.

What do you guys think of today's mani?  Have you tried anything like this before?

Sally Hansen Pearl Crush

SALLY HANSEN INTRODUCES A NEW SPECIAL EFFECT: CREATE A RADIANT, IRIDESCENT LOOK WITH PEARL CRUSH™

This summer, it's time to get cultured—with pearls, that is. Sally Hansen introduces Pearl Crush™; a collection of eight new Special Effect polishes that give nails an eye-catching, shimmery finish. Inspired by the season's iridescent trend, the Pearl Crush™ polishes have a unique combination of pigments that interact with layers of large, faceted glitter particles. The resulting effect: a 3D crushed pearl look that plays off light, lending a lustrous, vibrant look to summer manicures. Choose a softer tone or go dark—either way; you'll want to wear these precious "pearls" everywhere you go!

SHADES: Oy-ster It Up!: Aw, shucks—this true white with faceted glitter catches the light beautifully, She Sells: Whether on the seashore or the city streets, this pale blush hue is pretty, pink perfection, Lady Crab: No need to pinch yourself—this dreamy hot pink really is as steamy as it gets!, Rainbow Fish: Casting off icy tones, this iridescent blue is quite the catch, Shell & Tell: The secret is out: A lovely lilac like this doesn't come around every day, Mer-Mint: This splashy, soothing seafoam green is loaded with sea-inspired shimmer, Silver Scallop: Reflect on this modern take on metallics—a shape shifting silver that appears constantly in motion and Clam Digger: This lava-rock black stands out with flecks of phosphorescent-green glitter.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY: This limited-edition Pearl Crush™ collection, SRP $5.99, is available beginning June 2015 at chain drugstores and mass retailers nationwide.

I'm excited to see these in real life!!  What do you guys think about these?

He Picks My Polish

Hi everyone!!

I finally have a chance to participate in #hepicksmypolish again.  For this month, my hubby chose OPI DS Classic and Orly After Party.  I really think he chooses in a way that makes things difficult for me, sigh!  Anyway, this is what I came up with.

DS Classic is a nude holo and After Party is a black jelly with blue and purple shimmer.  So I decided to use nail shields to create the design because it's the only thing I could think of for these two polishes.

I think this actually works, I just wish my lines were a little cleaner.

What do you guys think of these two together?  Do you own any of these polishes?

Favorite Brand/Technique - 30 Days of Colour

Hi everyone!!

Today's theme for the #30DaysofColourChallenge is favorite brand/technique.  I have quite a few brands that I really like, but no one favorite brand.  So I chose Girly Bits since I got a few of their neons recently.  I really love Pam's polishes!

The polishes used in this mani are: Hip Hoop Hurray! (purple), Hoop! There It Is (pink/coral) and I've Got High Hoops (blue).  On my middle and ring fingers I used all three for a dry marble.  I used Seche Vite as my top coat.

I love these colors so much!!!  They're really pretty!  My dry marble left me feeling meh :(.  I've done better, but it's still artsy looking.

What do you guys think of these polishes?  Do you have a favorite nail polish brand?

Sally Hansen Poolside Paradise

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today, I have three polishes from Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel Poolside Paradise collection.  The collection has a total of 7 Limited Edition shades, which you can see here.

Morning Sunshine!
Yellow creme

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
Morning Sunshine! is a really pretty yellow.  The formula was a bit streaky and required three coats to level out.

Pink-A-Colada
"Cotton candy" pink crelly

Artificial Light

I love this unique shade of pink.  Pink-A-Colada is bit sheer, so I used three coats to acquire full opacity.

Dive Bar
Cerulean blue creme

Artificial Light

Dive Bar is such a pretty summer blue.  It applies really well and requires two coats for opacity.

These three polishes are really great summer colors.  The entire collection looks really fun.  As I mentioned earlier though, they're limited edition, so you have to get them now.

As with all Miracle Gel polishes, using the Miracle Gel top coat helps your manicure to last longer.

The limited-edition Poolside Paradise collection, SRP $9.99, is available beginning at chain drugstores and mass retailers nationwide.

What do you guys think of these three polishes?  Do you plan to pick up any polishes from this collection?

Twinsie Tuesday - Mattify

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "mattify."

I started of with a base of Pure Limitless (a black creme) and then stamped a leopard print image from Konad m57 using Bundle Monster Seeing Rainbows (pink), Wavelengths (blue) and Optical Illusion (purple).  I then added Seche Vite.

I know you're thinking, that's not matte.  But I just wanted to show the glossy version first.  I then added Pure Simplify It, a matte top coat.

I was really happy with how this mani turned out.  You guys know I'm more of a glossy girl, but I love how this mani came together.

What do you guys think of the final mani?  Do you like to have mattified nails?

Don't forget to visit the other Twinsies to see their mattifed nails!

Indie/Freehand - 30 Days of Colour

Hi everyone!!

It's time for another #30DaysofColourChallenge.  Today's theme is indie/freehand.

For this manicure I used Girly Bits Thump Your Melons, one of her new neons.  It's such a gorgeous orange.  I freehanded an animal design using my black and silver stripers.  I was thinking of doing all my nails like my index finger, but thought it would be too much.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
I was underwhelmed by how this mani turned out.  Sometimes I really liked it and other times I thought it was just okay.    I'm so in love with Thump Your Melons though.  What do you guys think of it?

Jule G - Kickin' It

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!  Happy Monday!!

For Monday Blues, I'm sharing a turquoise Julie G polish called Kickin' It.  It's a shimmer with a metallic finish.  It applies well, is opaque in two coats and with minimal brush strokes.  Here I used no top coat.

I decided to add an image from my UberChic 3-02 plate using A-England Excalibur then added top coat.

Artificial Light

I'm not sure why the image started to stamp all blurry, but my index finger was the best one.  I still really liked the contrast of the silver and turquoise.

What do you guys think of Kickin' It?

I really like the variety of the colors in this collection.  They are really fun for summer without being too bright.  The only one I'm not really too fond of is Nana.  I just don't like it against my skin tone.

What do you guys think of the Island Fun collection?  Do you have any favorites?
