Nails Inc. - Bruton Mews

Hi everyone!!

Wow!!  We've reached the end of the 30 Days of Colour challenge.  I can't believe the month has come to an end already.

Today's prompt is "swatchers choice" and I went with Nails Inc. Bruton Mews.  I got this polish from Saira in a set of four Nails Inc. polishes.  It's a deep green creme with a great formula.  It applies really well and is opaque in two coats.

I really love this shade of green!  I love that it's dark, but doesn't look black.  I'm happy about the great formula as well ;0).

What do you guys think of Bruton Mews?

Milani - Raspberry Fusion

Hi everyone!!

Today's polish was chosen by my daughter, Milani Raspberry Fusion.  For Day 29 of the 30 Days of Colour challenge, the theme is "Friend's Choice."  I decided to let my daughter choose because she loves doing stuff like that.

I wasn't surprised at all when she brought me this polish.  She loves pink and shimmer and that's what Raspberry Fusion is.  It's a deep pink, leaning fuchsia shimmer with a good formula.  It's sheer, so it requires three coats for full coverage, but it applies really well.

I decided to pair it with some nail wraps that I received from Born Pretty Store.  I wanted to include some form of nail art and thought this would be a fun contrast.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
These nail wraps were fairly easy to apply.  I ended up with a small wrinkle on my ring finger, but I think that's because I was rushing.  It's not very visible though.  Removal was pretty easy for me.  For these wraps, you're actually supposed to soak your nails in warm water for 8 minutes and then use nail polish remover.  Because my hands were constantly in water when wearing them, I was actually able to peel them off easily.

I really like how this manicure turned out.  I love the lace and flower design of the wraps and it's a really fun combo with Raspberry Fusion.

What do you guys think of this manicure?  Do you ever let someone else choose your nail polish?

These nail wraps can be purchased here for $3.19.  They come with a set of 14 strips.  You can use discount code MPL91 for 10% off your purchase.

OPI - Not Like the Movies

Hi everyone!!

For Day 28 of the 30 Days of Colour challenge, we're picking a random polish.  I decided to choose OPI Not Like the Movies.

This one is an oldie, but a goodie.  It's a sheer duochrome shimmer that shifts from purple to green.  Here I used three coats and was able to get full coverage.  I used no top coat.

I love that you can see the color shifts in this polish without even trying hard.  The shimmer in it is really pretty too.  Did you ever pick this one up?

Essie - Cocktail Bling

Hi everyone!!

Today, the Twinsies are matching their nails to their cars.  My car is silver and since I didn't want to go with silver nails, I came up with something that would go well with it.

Essie Cocktail Bling is a gorgeous gray creme with a really good formula.  Here I used two coats.  For my accent nail, I decided to go with China Glaze Glistening Snow, a silver holo glitter.

Artificial Light

I love this combo!!  It's simple, but still really nice.  You guys know how much I love gray polish.  I think it goes perfectly with a silver car, don't you?

Did you ever pick up Cocktail Bling?

Loverly - Fun Nails Guide

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Wedding season is here and I'm partnering with Loverly to share some simple, yet fun wedding looks for your nails.

Lover.ly is your one-stop-shop for wedding planning where brides and grooms find ideas, people to hire and things to buy.  Their goal is to make the wedding dress and planning process as simple as possible.

First, I have two looks that brides could wear other than your typical french manicure.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light

For this look, I used a white base (Pure Nail Lacquer Blameless) and added a flaky top coat (Essie Shine of the Times).  It's still a clean look, but there's a bit of an edge to it with the iridescence from the flakies.

Here's the second look.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
For this mani, I used Pure Nail Lacquer Blameless again and added silver dots with Pure Nail Lacquer Break Out.  This one is definitely more edgy and fun, especially if silver is a part of your color scheme.

I also wanted to share a few looks inspired by a few Eva for Loverly dresses.

Jelly sandwich using Sally Hansen Arm Candy and OPI Pirouette My Whistle for a soft touch with a bit of sparkle.

This watercolor mani using Color Club Pastel Neons is a perfect way to accessorize this lovely green.

A gorgeous shimmer top coat over black adds a lovely sparkle accessory to this stunning navy blue dress.

I had a lot of fun coming up with/pairing these looks.  I think it's always great to make a statement with your nails when getting dressed up for an event.

What do you guys think of these looks?  What do you wear on your nails when going to weddings?  Let me know in the comments.

Planning a wedding or going to one soon?  Check out Loverly here for some ideas.

Bettina - Vintage

Hi everyone!!

For Day 27 of the 30 Days of Colour challenge, we're sharing untried polishes.  Well, that wasn't difficult at all since I have so many.  I decided to go with a blue polish since it's Monday.

Bettina Vintage is a lovely blue creme, but the formula is just okay.  It was thinner than I expected and slightly streaky.  I was able to achieve full coverage with two coats though.

For my accent nail, I decided to apply Color Club Angel Kiss from the Halo Hues collection (yet another untried).  I then stamped a triangle image from the UberChic 2-01 stamping plate using Vintage.  I then stamped a similar image using angel Kiss on my middle finger.  I topped the mani off with Seche Vite.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
I really like how this mani turned out.  Vintage and Angel Kiss are both really pretty and I just love the contrast of the creme and holo finishes.  What do you guys think of the final result?

Here's a look at the images I used at the bottom of the plate below.

30 Days of Colour Challenge - Day 26

Hi everyone!!

Today is Day 26 of the 30 Days of Colour challenge.  We are re-swatching a polish today.  I decided to grab Essence The Dawn is Broken, a unique gray with silver and black shimmer and definitely one of my favorites.  Since re-swatching it and leaving it on its own would've been boring, I decided to stamp over it.

I used a red metallic polish (Bundle Monster Visionary, B139) to stamp this image from an image on the UberChic 2-01 plate.  I absolutely love how this turned out!  The colors really compliment each other and the design is super pretty!

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
I'm really pleased with how well this Bundle Monster polish stamps.  I'm looking forward to trying the others I purchased.

The image I used on the top left of the plate below.

What do you guys think of this mani?  What polish do you typically go back to again and again?

What manicure tips do you have to stay trendy this spring?

"Keep nails on trend this spring, by shaping round or almond and painting them in one of Spring's 'it'  colors, like Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in   'Dark Denim' "

What is your favorite nail art look?

"Negative space and texture, are my two favorite nail art looks for Spring. One swipe of Sally Hansen's 'big matte top coat',  instantly makes your favorite Spring nail  color, a bit edgy and cooler"

Essie - Mojito Madness

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

The theme for Day 25 of the 30 Days of Colour challenge is "favourite."  I chose one of my favorite greens, Essie Mojito Madness, which was released in 2012.

To show how much of a problem I have, though this is one of my favorites, it's the first time I'm trying it.  I think most polish hoarders, I mean lovers, can relate to this ;0).

Thankfully, I wasn't disappointed when I put this beauty on.  The formula was flawless!  It was fully opaque in two easy coats and dried to a beautiful shine.  I used no top coat here.

Artificial Light

I absolutely love this polish!!  I'm glad I finally showed it some love.  What do you think of it?  Did you ever pick Mojito Madness up?

Revlon Streetwear - Taxi

Hi everyone!!

Day 24 of the 30 Days of Colour challenge is "oldest."  I decided to swatch a vintage polish that I have in my stash that I received from Claudia over a year ago.

Taxi is a yellow creme with shimmer.  It's definitely the color of yellow taxi cabs back in the day.  The formula could be better.  After three coats, it's still a bit streaky, but I got decent coverage.  I used no top coat.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
I really like this shade of yellow and especially that it has a subtle shimmer in it.   It's just too bad that application wasn't easier.

What do you guys think of Taxi?  What's the oldest polish in your stash?
