Hits Speciallita - Dionisio

Hi everyone!!

For this Twinsie Tuesday's post, we are sharing our biggest splurge.  To be honest, I'm cheating a bit today.  I couldn't really think of a polish that was that big of a splurge.  I don't get too crazy with my polish purchases.  Paying $10 for an indie is already a lot, in my opinion.  So I decided to go with a polish that I got in a swap from Hits.  It's a pretty pricey brand, especially because the bottles are so small.

Dionisio is a gorgeous purple holo that I wanted for a while, so I was so happy when I finally received it.  I wish I could've taken a picture in the sun, but you can still see its beauty.  It has a good formula and is opaque in two coats.  Here I used two coats with no top coat.

I'm in love with Dionisio!!  What do you guys think of it?  What was your biggest polish splurge?

Hot Looks - Show Off

Hi everyone!!

It's Monday again and I have a gorgeous blue shimmer to take your blues away.

Hot Looks is a brand that is new to me.  I believe I got this one from Esther, so I think it's a polish that's local to London.  Show Off is a bright blue shimmer with a good formula.  The first coat was a bit streaky, but it leveled out nicely with the second coat.  Like the bottle says, it does dry quickly.  I used no top coat here.

I absolutely love this shade of blue and the shimmer this polish has.  It's super pretty!!

Aphrodite Lacquers - Grapetini

Hi everyone!!

Today, I have an oldie, but a goodie to share with you from Aphrodite Lacquers.  I purchased Grapetini when Aphrodite Lacquers first started selling polishes at the same time I got Rum Runner.  I think this was about two years ago, maybe more.  It's a purple jelly with small and micro holographic glitters.

In the future, I'll have to layer this one.  I used three coats and there was still lots of VNL.  It's still really pretty though.

Artificial Light

I love this shade of purple and how squishy this polish is.  What do you guys think of Grapetini?  What's the longest you went without trying a polish in your stash?

Twinsie Tuesday - Neutral

Hi everyone!!

This week for Twinsie Tuesday, the girls are sharing neutral polishes.  I decided to try Joe Fresh Mocha for this post.  I've had a few Joe Fresh polishes for over a year and this is the first one I'm trying.

Artificial Light

Mocha is a chocolate brown creme with a hint of shimmer.  The formula is okay.  It was patchy when applying it, so it needed three coats for full opacity.  The shimmer is a really nice touch.  Here I used no top coat.

I really like neutral shades like this.  They're great for when I need a palette cleanser.  It's also great for fall.  Do you like wearing neutral polishes on your nails?

Max Factor - Meteorite

Hi everyone!!  Happy Monday!

Today, I have a Max Factor polish called Meteorite to share with you.  I received it from Esther a long time ago.  It's a bluish, grayish metallic polish.  The formula is good, but slightly patchy.  I had to use three coats for full opacity.  It did dry very quickly though.

Hi everyone!!

Today, I have a lovely brown creme from Zoya to share with you called Codie.  I received this polish in a gift sampler from them earlier this year.

Codie has a pretty good formula.  The first coat was slightly streaky, but it leveled out and was fully opaque with a second coat.  Here I used two coats with no top coat.

Estessimo TINS - Jeux d'eau

Hi everyone!!

Today, I have a mint green polish from Estessimo TINS called Jeux d'eau that I received in a swap earlier this year.  This is a brand known to Japan and they have some really pretty polishes.

Jeux d'eau is packed with microglitters, which really sparkle in person.  The formula could have been better though.  It was really streaky, so it required extra care when applying.  Here I used three coats with Out the Door top coat.

What do you guys think of Jeux d'eau?  Have you ever tried this brand?

Pink (and purple) Wednesday

Hi everyone!!

Today, I have two polishes to share with you.  A purple shimmer from Marks and Spencer, which I received from Saira a looooong time ago and a pink/holographic glitter from a Japanese brand called Homei.

Marks and Spencer Purple is a bit on the sheer side, but I was able to get full coverage with two coats.  It applies well and dries quickly.

The Homei glitter has some stars and moons in there, but they were hard to get on the nail.  I thought this glitter went perfectly with the Marks and Spencer polish, don't you?

Artificial Light

Have you tried either of these brands before?  What do you think of this combo?

Twinsie Tuesday - Accent Nail

Hi everyone!!

For this week's Twinsie Tuesday post, we're sharing accent nails, one of my go to looks.  I decided to go with Barry M Countess and Barry M Princess for my accent.  Both of these are from their Textured Nail Effect Line.

Catrice - Mint Me Up

Hi everyone!!

Today, I'm sharing the mani I've been rocking this week.

I got Catrice Mint Me Up earlier this year from Chiro because it was on my wish list.  It's a mint green creme with gold shimmer.  It has a good formula and is opaque in two coats.  I decided to do a chevron accent with A-England Holy Grail.  I topped it off with Out the Door top coat.

Artificial Light

Mint Me Up is such a pretty green.  I love the shimmer in it.  Mint and gold make such a great combo!  What do you guys think of this look?

Artificial Light
I got this polish last year and I'm only now trying it.  The formula was a bit streaky, so it required three coats for full opacity.  It's a really pretty shade though and I love the shimmer.

Twinsie Tuesday - Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Hi everyone!!

This week, for Twinsie Tuesday, we're sharing teal manicures for Ovarian Cancer Awareness.  September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.  "Ovarian cancer causes more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system.  But when ovarian cancer is found in its early stages, treatment works best." (source)

Ovarian cancer may cause one or more of these signs and symptoms—
  • Vaginal bleeding or discharge from your vagina that is not normal for you.
  • Pain in the pelvic or abdominal area (the area below your stomach and between your hip bones).
  • Back pain.
  • Bloating, which is when the area below your stomach swells or feels full.
  • Feeling full quickly while eating.
  • A change in your bathroom habits, such as having to pass urine very badly or very often, constipation, or diarrhea.
For more information, please visit this site.

On to the mani I created this week!

For this mani, I used one of my favorite teal polishes, Sinful Colors Savage.  I decided to use an argyle design from Konad's m60 stamping plate and used A-England Excalibur to create the design.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light

My stamping skills still need some work, but it's getting better.  What do you guys think of this look?

Be sure to keep the information I shared above in mind regarding Ovarian Cancer.  It's important to pay attention to your body and visit your doctor if anything seems off.

Don't forget to visit the other Twinsies to see their teal manis this week!
