Shimmer Bernice and Kiko 385

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today I have a gorgeous polish to share with you, Shimmer Bernice.  Bernice is described as a black, silver and blue sparkle.  It's good for layering, but can be worn on its own.  There is great coverage with each coat.  Here's a mani I came up with it.

Index Finger: Kiko 385 with A-England Excalibur dots
Middle Finger: Bernice as a base, then used striping tape and added a coat of Kiko 385
Ring Finger: Kiko 385 with two dots of Bernice
Pinky: Four coats of Bernice on its own

I loved this mani so much!!!  Bernice is such a gorgeous glitter and Kiko 385 is such a lovely, vibrant blue.  They go together perfectly!

I actually received Kiko 385 from Saira (thanks hon!) earlier this year.  Here it is on its own.

385 has a great formula.  It applies like butter and is opaque in two coats.  For these swatches, I used two coats of Kiko 385 on its own, no top coat.

And here's a macro of Shimmer Bernice.

Macro - Shimmer Bernice
Isn't it amazing?!!!  Another gorgeous Shimmer polish!

Shimmer polishes may be purchased online here.  Bottles are $12 each.

What do you guys think of Bernice?  What about Kiko 385?

Neener Neener Nails - Cutie & Flaunt My Nails

Hi everyone!!

I have two pretties from Neener Neener Nails to share with you!

Cutie

Cutie is a bright pink jelly base with blue and holographic microglitter.  It has a great formula, but because it's a jelly, it required four coats to get rid of VNL.  To avoid having to use so many coats, it could be layered over a similar color.  Here I used four coats with no base or top coat.

 Flaunt My Nails

Flaunt My Nails is a deep fuchsia jelly base with multicolored microglitter.  It applies really well and is opaque in two coats.  It provides great glitter coverage with each coat too.  Here I used two coats with no base or top coat.

These polishes are really pretty and girly, which I love.  I love them both equally.  What do you think of these two polishes?

Neener Neener Nails polishes may be purchased online here.  Bottles are $7.75 each.

Misa - Lovely Lychee

Hi everyone!!

Today, I have a Misa polish to share with you.  Lovely Lychee is a beautiful bright pink with a great formula.  It applies really well and is opaque in two coats.  In the pics below, I used two coats on its own.

Artificial Light

Isn't Lovely Lychee a gorgeous barbie pink?  You guys know I was automatically in love with it.

I decided to add Color Club Halo-Graphic to this mani, so I used two coats on my ring finger.  I then used my dotting tool to add dots of Lovely Lychee on the ring finger and dots of Halo-Graphic on my middle finger.  I topped it off with Seche Vite.  Here's how it turned out.

I love this polish!!!  And Halo-Graphic was such a cute combo with it.  It's such an awesome pink holo.  I didn't have any sunlight, but it wasn't needed to see its true beauty.

What do you guys think of Lovely Lychee?  Do you like the combo with Halo-Graphic?

Two Year Blogaversary!!

Hi my lovely readers!!

So today is my two year blogaversary and I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by.  I'm so grateful to all of you who have been on this journey with me.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by each day and for all of your lovely comments, I truly appreciate each and every one.  If it weren't for you, I'd be writing to no one.

I wanted to something a little different today. Last year, I did a comparison of my earlier posts and how far I'd come with my pictures.  This time, I wanted to also do a comparison, but I decided to re-swatch instead.  I chose two polishes from my very first posts and did updated swatches.  I also did some nail art with them, since I've been experimenting with nail art more and more over the last year.

Aldo Chocolate Factory
While my application was good two years ago, the picture left much to be desired.  What's up with the background?  The updated swatch is way better.  The focus is on the polish and there are no distractions.

For the pic below, I decided to apply two coats of China Glaze Blonde Bombshell.  I then used striping tape to create two vertical lines on each nail and added Chocolate Factory.  I topped it off with Nubar Diamont.

Aldo Chocolate Factory and China Glaze Blonde Bombshell
I thought this was a really cute look.  I love brown and gold together.

Finger Paints Blank Canvas Cream
I love this nude.  It's the first polish I ever got from Sally's.  See how blurry the first pic is?  Smh.  The updated version is wayyyy better.  It even looks like a different polish.

For the nail art, I tried a design similar to what a former co-worker had on her nails.  I created varying swirly lines using Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power (pink), Pure Nail Lacquer Sunny Disposition (yellow), and Sinful Colors Savage (teal).  I then used a nail art brush to created the dotted lines.

I was super happy with how this mani turned out.  It reminded me of abstract art.

This nail polish blogging world has really expanded my ability to be creative with my nails and I'm looking forward to seeing what the next year has in store.

I hope you guys liked this post.  Let me know what you think of these manis!  Thanks again so much for reading!!

Dollish Polish - Starlite

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is space inspired.  I was going to do a galaxy manicure, but then I took one look at Dollish Polish's Starlite and just had to put it on.

Isn't Starlite pretty?!!  It has a great formula.  It applied really well was fully opaque in three coats.  I used Rejuvacote as a base, three coats of Starlite and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

I have to admit, this polish doesn't quite remind me of space, but it's super pretty.  My daughter actually said it reminds her of the circus.  I can totally see that with all the fun colors in this polish.

What do you guys think of Starlite?  Does it remind you of space?

Dollish Polish can be purchased online here.  You can also get it at Llarowe where I picked this one up.

Don't forget to visit all of the twinsies to see their space inspired manis!

Polish Us Pink - Cotton Candy

Hi everyone!!

Time for another Polish Us Pink post!

For this week's post, I have a polish that I've had for a very long time from the indie brand Paris Sparkles.  Cotton Candy is a holographic microglitter in a sheer pink base.  I decided to layer one coat over a Pink Cosmetic Arts polish.  Cotton Candy provides great coverage with each coat.  I used no top coat in these pictures.

Monday Blues (and pink)

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!  Happy Monday!

For Monday Blues this week, I wanted to mix it up and use one of my favorite color combos, blue and pink.

I used Barry M Turquoise and Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power to create interlocking dots.  Below is a brief tutorial of how I created the look.

Start with your base colors

Add your second color diagonally across the nail.  In this case I freehanded the second color, but you can also use tape to get nice neat lines.

Add the same color dots as your base color along the line.  Try to keep the dots closer to the side of the second color.

Sorry for this blurry pic :(.  Next, add the dots using the second color on the other side of the diagonal line.

Add the remaining dots.

Finish off with top coat.

Artificial Light
I love, love, love blue and pink together and interlocking dots is such a simple, yet cute look.  Looking at this mani definitely takes my Monday Blues away.

What do you guys think of this mani?  Have you tried interlocking dots before?

I hope you this tutorial was helpful.

Indie Sunday - The Polish Bar

Hi everyone!!

For Indie Sunday, let's learn a bit more about Janice of The Polish Bar!

When did your love for polish begin?
I've loved polish ever since I was a teenager. My friends and I would paint our nails together. I was really into bright, fun colors then.

What made you decide to start your own polish line?

It originally started out as a hobby. I thought it would be fun to create some unique polishes that I had not seen from mainstream makers before. After that, I decided to share my creations and start a shop. The rest is history!

What's the inspiration behind the colors you create?

I am inspired by so many things. I am definitely very inspired by nature and fashion. I like to look at nature photos and fashion magazines for inspiration.

How many polishes do you have in your stash?

500+

How can customers follow you on social media?

As for other info, I just released my Fall 2013 Collection. It features nine polishes - five holos and four crellies. Also, I recently partnered with Overall Beauty and they are now an official stockist!

It was nice learning a little more about Janice and The Polish Bar.  I love all of her polishes I've tried so far and I'm looking forward to seeing what The Polish Bar has in store for us.  Here are some of my favorites from the ones I've tried so far:

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have a few Glitterdaze polishes from the Summer 2013 ColorPOP collection to share with you!

Ice Cream for Summer

Artificial Light (Light Box)
Ice Cream for Summer is a pink crelly base with neon microglitters.  It applies really well and is opaque in two coats.  It dries to a gritty finish, so it requires top coat to smooth everything out. Here, I used Rejuvacote as a base,  two coats of Ice Cream for Summer and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Jetsetter Lifestyle

Artificial Light

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
Jetsetter Lifestyle is a dusty blue holo that has a really good formula.  It's slightly thick, but manageable and is fully opaque in two easy coats.  Here I used Rejuvacote as a base, two coats of Jetsetter Lifestyle and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

A Boardwalk to Remember

Artificial Light

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
A Boardwalk to Remember has neon pink, purple and blue glitter in a clear base.  It provides great coverage with each coat.  I used one coat over Orly Au Champagne and topped it off with Seche Vite.

I really like these polishes a lot.  They're all beautiful in their own way, with great formulas.  What do you guys think of these polishes?  Did you get any polishes from the ColorPOP collection?
