Lacquerlicious - Strawberry Cosmo

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have a lovely glitter to share with you for Pink Wednesday.  Lacquerlicious Strawberry Cosmo is described as a pink/magenta hologlam glitter.  I decided to layer if over OPI If You Moust You Moust.

I only applied one coat of Strawberry Cosmo over If You Moust You Moust and, as you can see, it provided great coverage.

I really wanted to do a jelly sandwich with this glitter, so I added a coat of Sally Hansen Arm Candy, then topped it off with Seche Vite.

This is such a pretty glitter!!  I love how the jelly sandwich turned out.  It's so... pink!!

Twinsie Tuesday - Something New

Hi everyone!!

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is to try something new.  So I went to my Pinterest Board with nail art I've been meaning to try and picked floss stripes.  It seemed simple enough to do and it was.  I used Brucci Heidi's Glow as a base.  I then used dental floss to create stripes with Zoya Kieko and Barry M Turquoise.  I then finished it off with top coat.

This is such a simple way to create stripes.  You can check out a tutorial for this form of nail art here.

What do you guys think of today's mani?  Have you ever tried doing stripes with dental floss?

Don't forget to check out the other twinsies to see what new thing they tried this week.

Picture Polish - Blog Fest 2013

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have a very exciting post to share with you.  I am participating in Picture Polish's Blog Fest 2013.  So I received three polishes to create an amazing manicure.

Picture Polish Orbit, Beige, and O'Hara
Aren't these polishes gorgeous?!!  How I love Picture Polish!!  So what did I come up with for these beauties?  Let's see...

How I did this mani:
  • I used Beige as a base on each nail for this manicure.
  • On my index finger, I used a makeup sponge to create a gradient with Orbit.
  • On my middle finger, I used my dotting tool to add dots with O'Hara and Orbit of varying sizes.
  • For my ring finger, I used striping tape to create diagonal stripes that crossed and added a coat of Orbit.
  • On my pinky, I used a makeup sponge to create a gradient with O'Hara.

Shimmer - Kim

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have Shimmer Kim to share with you today.  It's a blue and purple mixed glitter (two of my favorite polish colors) in a clear base.  As with all the Shimmer polishes I've tried so far, Kim was packed with glitter.  Here I used three coats on its own, no base or top coat.

I then decided to layer Kim over China Glaze Electric Beat.  I loved the combo!

Polish Addict Swatches and Review

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have two polishes to share with you today from Polish Addict Nail Color.  The first is Flip Flops & Wine.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
Unfortunately, I accidentally dropped my bottle of Flip Flops & Wine when I opened the package, which is why I don't have a bottle shot :(.  Thankfully I was able to still do a swatch of it though.  You should have seen me squatting and using the brush from the bottle to get whatever I could salvage.  It was quite the sight.  But a girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do right?

Anyhoo, Flip Flops & Wine is an orange/red jelly base packed with multi-colored glitter.  It applies well, but it's slightly thick, so care is required.  It's also a glow in the dark polish which is really cool.  I used three coats with no base or top coat in my swatches.

Next is Heat Wave.

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
Heat Wave is also a glow in the dark polish.  It's a peach base with fun neon glitters.  It has a great formula and gives great coverage in two coats.  Here I used two coats with no base or top coat.

These are really fun polishes, but Heat Wave is definitely my favorite!  What do you guys think of these two polishes?  Do you have a favorite?

Polish Addict Nail Color may be purchased here.  Prices range from $9-$10.  Go check out the site for other fun polish combinations.

What do you guys think of this girly combo?

D & R Apothecary - Lullaby

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have a polish from D&R Apothecary to share with you today.  Lullaby is a white crelly base with dark and light blue hex glitters, light pink hex glitters and pink and blue microglitters.  It's slightly thick, but it applies well.  It just requires a bit of care when applying it.  I used Rejuvacote as a base, two coats of Lullaby, and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Aphrodite Lacquers - Wherefore Art Thou

Hi everyone!!

I have a lovely polish from Aphrodite Lacquers to share with you today.  Wherefore Art Thou is a sheer white base with fuschia circle glitter, light pink and white square glitters, and white hex glitters.  It has a really good formula.  It applies really well and because it's sheer, it requires three coats for full opacity.  I used Rejuvacote as a base, three coats of Wherfore Art Thou, and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

I love this girly polish.  It's right up my alley.  What do you guys think of Wherefore Art Thou?

Nostalgic Nail Lacquer - Andie

Hi everyone!!

For Pink Wednesday, I have a polish that I purchased over a year ago from Nostalgic Nail Lacquer.  As a matter of fact, it's one of the first few indies I ever purchases.  But as usual, as much as I loved it, it ended up in my helmer just waiting to be shown some love, smh.

Andie is a very sheer milky base with rose hex glitter and rose, silver and black microglitter.  I decided to layer it over two coats of Rimmel French Lingerie because of how sheer it is.  It applies well, but the glitter is sparse, so I ended up using three coats to get decent coverage.  I used Rejuvacote as a base and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat for this manicure.

You guys know how much I love a soft and girly polish.  Andie definitely is one of those.  I love the subtle sparkle of the glitter against the milky base.

What do you guys think of Andie?  Do you own any Nostalgic polishes?

I'm not sure that Andie is available anymore, but there are many beautiful polishes on Nostalgic's website here.  Be sure to visit.

Twinsie Tuesday - Splatter

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is do a splatter manicure.  I was very excited because I haven't tried a splatter in a long time and they always end up being fun to look at.  So here's how mine turned out.

For this mani, I used Orly Au Champagne as a base.  I then used a small straw to add Brash Green Machine, Sally Hansen Fuschia Power and Essence What Do U Think?.  I used Rejuvacote as a base coat and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Artificial Light

I wanted to do something bright and fun, so I thought these colors were perfect!  I was a little sad about the big blobs on my middle finger, but I still liked how the mani turned out.

What do you guys think of this splatter?  Have you tried this technique yet?

Don't forget to check out all the twinsies.  Go check out their splatter manis!
