Everybeauty - Spring Serenade

Hi everyone!!

Just want to share today's NOTD with you because I was so in love with it.  I recently received Everybeauty Spring Serenade as a gift.  It's a sheer deep fuchsia base with pink and lavender hex glitter, fuchsia microglitter and holographic microglitter.  I decided to wear it with Sally Hansen No Hard Feelings.  I have two coats over my ring finger and did a gradient on the other nails.

Aphrodite Lacquers - Fete Champetre & Terre

Hi everyone!!  Happy Easter!  What are you guys up to today?  I'll be in church celebrating the Resurrection and then having some good food with family.

Today, I have two springy-looking polishes from Aphrodite Lacquers to share with you.  I've had these for quite some time and decided it was time to show them some love.

Fete Champetre is a sheer lilac base with multicolored glitter.  It has a great formula, but is way more sheer than I expected it to be.  I used three coats and there was still VNL and it didn't look like the color in the bottle.  Here I used Orly Nail Defense as a base, three coats of Fete Champetre, and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

This is a really fun polish.  The glitter reminds me of confetti.

Next is Terre.  It's a mint green base with small green and gold hex glitter and green shimmer.  Terre is also a sheer polish, but after three coats it's fully opaque.  I did experience some patchiness when applying it though.  I used Orly Nail Defense as a base, three coats of Terre and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Terre is so pretty!! I love a good mint green polish and the green and gold glitter is a wonderful addition.

Rainbow Honey - The Robot Collection (Swatches & Review)

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have a review of polishes to share with you from Rainbow Honey's The Robot Collection which will be released on April 5th. The Robot Collection is a collaboration between Rainbow Honey and illustrator Mary Winkler. Inspiration was taken from "anime, video games, super cheesy B films, and the work of Mary Winkler, illustrator, jewelry and textile designer."

The collection has five metallic polishes and one glitter topper. The formula is great for all of these polishes. With the metallics, they applied really well and were fully opaque in two coats. Thankfully, they weren't too brush-strokey. I used two coats of each polish with no base or top coat.

Yoshimi (black and white combination of glitters sprinkled with a bit of iridescence)

Yoshimi applied very well. I used one coat over each color. The larger glitter was a bit sparse, but there was still great coverage with the smaller glitters.

This collection is really different from the funky glitter combinations that Rainbow Honey usually sells, but its really nice. Though metallic isn't my favorite finish, these go on really well and the sparkle that these polishes have really make them pretty. My favorites are Femme Bot and Skyward Bot.

As for the black and white glitter, that's one of my favorite glitter combos, so I'm in love!!

What do you guys think of The Robot Collection? Do you have a favorite?

The Rainbow Collection will be available on rainbowhoney.com and participating Retail Partners around the globe on 4/5/2013 as full 15ml collection and as a mini collection featuring their new 4ml bottles.

Rainbow Honey is also offering free shipping on all orders of $50 or more (US and Canada only) and our FREE secret polish, which is also available for individual purchase.

Show Some Love Saturday

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

For this week's Show Some Love Saturday, I decided to channel my inner Marta!  For those who aren't familiar with that name, Marta is the writer of the blog Chit Chat Nails.  I've followed her for over a year now and I love her mish mosh manicures.  She rarely has a plain manicure.  There is always something extra going on and it's always awesome.  Here's what I came up with:

For this manicure, I used the following polishes:
Index and middle fingers: Cult Nails Spontaneous
Ring finger: Sally Hansen No Hard Feelings as a base and Etude House WH020 for the polka dots
Pinky: Etude House WH020 (two coats)
Thumb: Sally Hansen No Hard Feelings with WH020 free handed over part of the nail (see below)

I used Sally Hansen Triple Strong as a base and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat on all nails.

I used a necklace in this picture to imitate Marta's use of jewelry in some of her nail pics.  Hers looks way better though ;0)

I have to admit that though I've been playing around with nail art a lot more lately, this mani took a lot of getting used to.  I'm used to all my nails looking the same or one or two accent nails.  I always appreciate Marta's manis, but this was way out of my comfort zone.  It was a super fun look at though, so I'm really glad I tried it.  If you guys have not visited Marta's blog yet, you MUST.  You will love her gorgeous manicures.

What do you guys think of this manicure?  Do you do mish mosh manicures?

Cirque - Vaudeville

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today I have a polish from Cirque to share with you.  I've wanted to try this brand for a long time now and finally got around to purchasing a few early in January.  I've had the pleasure of meeting Annie on two occasions and she's such a sweetheart and really loves creating unique polishes.

The polish I'm sharing today is called Vaudeville.  It's described by Annie as a muted lavender polish with gold and turquoise shimmer.  It has a great formula!  It applies really well and has a lovely shimmer that translates to the nail.  It is a bit sheer, so I decided to use three coats.  I used Sally Hansen Triple Strong as a base and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Orly - Fowl Play

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today I have another Orly polish to share with you that is full of flaky goodness.  Orly Fowl Play is from the Birds of a Feather collection released in 2011.  I'd seen tons of pictures of it online, but couldn't find it anywhere, so I was very excited when I finally found it (I can't even remember where at this point, smh).

Fowl Play is a purple jelly base with orange and blue flakies and microshimmer.  the formula was really good and it applied really well.  Here I used Sally Hansen Triple Strong as a base, three coats of Fowl Play and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

You can't tell me this polish isn't absolutely gorgeous!! I love it so much.  It's so full of colorful flaky goodness.  I'm so happy to have this one.

I must share my drama with this polish though.  When I first opened the bottle I realized that the brush had broken off from the stem of the cap.

I automatically panicked and thought I couldn't use it, but after sharing the picture on Instagram, I got a suggestion to use a brush from another polish (I don't know why I didn't think of that myself).  Since my Nail Defense was finished, I decided to use that brush.  I have to say I was disappointed when I reached out to Orly on facebook and got no response.  Thankfully I was able to use the polish anyway.

What do you guys think of Fowl Play?  Are you a flaky lover?  Has a brush ever fallen off of your polish cap?

Orly - Preamp

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

This Pink Wednesday, I have a beautiful polish from Orly that I'm sure many of you saw before.  Preamp was released in Fall 2012 in Orly's Electronica collection.  I didn't get it right away and clearly I was delirious.  I started to see swatches of it and knew I had to have it, especially after seeing Lakeisha's swatches.  Then I saw it at Sally's after Christmas and got it for around $2.  Score!!!

Orly Preamp is a pink that leans purple with lots of glass flecks in it.  It has an excellent formula.  It applied flawlessly and was opaque in two coats.  Here I used two coats with no base or top coat.

This is definitely my kind of color, it's so girly and pretty!!  I'm so in love with this polish and I'm so glad I finally came to my senses and got my hands on this baby.

What do you guys think of Preamp?  Did you pick this one up?

OPI Pack Your Booty Shorts & Smitten Polish Lovely Lilacs

Hi everyone!!

For this Twinsie Tuesday, we are supposed to share a mani with our favorite color.  Everyone knows my favorite polish color is pink, but since I share pink at least once a week on the blog, many times more, I decided to use my second favorite color, purple.

I decided to go with two polishes that I've waited way too long to try, OPI Pack Your Booty Shorts and Smitten Polish Lovely Lilacs.

Pack Your Booty Shorts is a neon purple from the Summer 2012 Ulta Exclusive collection.  I bought it when I went to Vegas last year.  I was so happy to grab this polish.  Usually I miss out on the Ulta exclusive polishes because I don't have one near me, so I had to take advantage.  The formula was just okay.  It was sheerer than I expected and there was some patchiness when applying.  You can see it a bit on my middle finger.  I used two coats with Orly Nail Defense as a base and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

On my ring finger, I have three coats of Lovely Lilacs by Smitten Polish.  It's a violet jelly base with holo microglitter and pink small hex glitter.  It applied really well and didn't need any under wear.  On my thumb, I used two coats of Pack My Booty Shorts and free handed Lovely Lilacs on half of the nail.

This is such a beautiful combo!!  Can you see why I love purple so much?

What's your favorite polish color?
