Daring Digits - Swatches & Review

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have a few polishes that Daring Digits will be releasing tomorrow.  Ashley has created a collection called Trailer Park Boys after a Canadian TV Show that she loves.  The polishes are named after the three main characters of the show.

Ricky

Ricky is a clear base with medium white square glitter, small black square glitter and small white bar glitter. It was difficult to get the white square glitters out, but the rest of the glitters applied very easily.  I decided to layer two coats over Essence Break Through.

I'm a huge lover of black and white glitter and though I hardly got any of the white square glitter, I really like the way it looked with mostly the bar glitter and the black glitter.

Julian

Julian is a sheer black base with gold flakies. I layered one coat over black (Nicka K Noir). It has a really good formula and provides great coverage. I used no top coat in these pictures.

I love the black and gold together.  This polish is really stunning!  I don't have anything else like it.  It makes such an awesome combo!

Bubbles

Bubble is my personal favorite from this collection.  It's a jelly base packed with duochrome shimmer and iridescent glitter.  I decided to layer two coats over OPI Russian Navy.

This polish is absolutely gorgeous! It reminds me of a beautiful night sky. It's slightly thick, but applies really well.  I'm so happy to have this one.

What do you guys think of these three polishes?  Do you have a favorite?  Are you a Trailer Park Boys fan?

These polishes will be available tomorrow at www.ddpolish.com.  Make sure you grab them up.

Nubzen Claus - Castle Rock

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today I have the polish that made me try Nubzen Claus polishes to share with you, Castle Rock.  It's a gray jelly with bronze microglitter, and hex brown and gold glitter.  While it has lots of glitter, it's a great neutral and actually has a soft look.  It also has a great formula.  It's slightly thin though, so while I got great coverage with two coats, I decided to add a third.  It did dry to a dull finish, so top coat is needed for a glossy look.

I used Orly Nail Defense as a base, three coats of Castle Rock and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

I am absolutely in love with this polish!!!  You guys know I love a good gray!  The brown, bronze and gold glitter make a great addition to this polish.  This is a great, unique combination!

What do you guys think of Castle Rock?  Would you wear it?

Nubzen Claus polishes can be purchased on etsy here.  Full size bottles are $8 and minis are $4.

Rivka Holografico - Blair

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have a pretty holographic polish from a brand called Rivka to share with you.  As far as I know, this is a brand that's only sold in Brazil.  I received it from one of my lovely readers, Paola, when we did a swap.

Blair is a rose holographic polish that applies really well.  It's fully opaque in two coats and dries very quickly.  I used no base or top coat in these pictures.

I think this is such a pretty color and I love the holo in it.  I just wish I could've gotten a picture in the sunlight.

What do you think of Blair?  Is it your kind of color?

Twinsie Tuesday - Ruffian

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today's Twinsie Tuesday challenge is to do a ruffian manicure.  A ruffian starts with a base color and then adding a different color on top of the base color, but further away from the cuticle.  This way, you see the base color peeking through at the base of the nail.

For my base color, I used A-England Holy Grail (the original).  I then used Sinful Colors Fire Red as my second color.  I wish I could've done this manicure more neatly.  The red isn't as centered as it should be and is slightly crooked :(.  I do think the colors go really well together though.

While I consider this mani a fail, I was happy to finally give this a try.  Will I do it again?  I don't know.  I would have to be feeling adventurous, lol.

I'm looking forward to seeing if my twinsies had a better experience with their ruffian manicures.  Go check them out!

Dazzle Dry Review

Hi everyone!!

I have a review of Dazzle Dry to share with you today. Dazzle Dry is 100% vegan and promises that your polish will be completely dry in 5 minutes.

The set comes with a Nail Prep, Base Coat and Top Coat.  The nail prep should be used with a cotton ball to clean the nail prior to applying the base coat.  After a generous layer of base coat, you apply your polish and then the Dazzle Dry top coat.

I've tried this system for a bit over a week now and it works really well.  It dries to a beautiful shine and so quickly!  I did notice a few bubbles on my nails, but that only happened once or twice.  I like that this top coat doesn't have a strong smell and is totally vegan.  I also love that I experienced no shrinking with this top coat, not once!

Dazzle Dry also sent me one of their nail colors called Happy Hour.

Happy Hour is from their Winter 2012 Night Life collection.  It's a pretty red shimmer that looks way better in person.  My only problem was with the formula.  It was really thin and slightly runny, so I had a lot of flooding at the cuticle which made it difficult to clean up.  Also, though it was opaque in two coats, because it was so thin, I could see all the flaws of my nails.  I didn't like that very much.  It's still a really nice shade of red though.

Artificial Light
You can see that there were some bubbles on my ring finger from the top coat.

I really love this top coat and I think I'll be using it a lot more in the future.  I just wish the nail polish had a better formula.

Have you tried Dazzle Dry Top Coat before?  What's your go to top coat?

Dazzle Dry polishes can be purchased online at www.dazzledry.com.  Their nail lacquers are $9 per bottle.  The top coat on its own is $12.50.

Unicorn Bath - Take 2

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

A littlle while ago, I shared Unicorn Bath by Darling Diva and mentioned that I would try it over blue.  Well I did, but totally forgot to share it with you guys.  So since it's Monday, I thought I'd share it for Monday Blues.

I layered Unicorn Bath over Revlon Waterfall.  I believe I only used one coat.

I'm so in love with this!!  There's so much shimmer in this mani and I just love the white and blue glitter together.

Do you love this polish as much as I do?  I hope it helped to take your Monday blues away!

Seche - Lumiere

Hi everyone!!

I have the last of my Seche polishes to share with you today.  Lumiere is a corally-rosey shimmer, I don't know how else to describe it.  It has a pretty good formula.  It applies well, but there is slight visibility of brush strokes.  Lumiere was opaque in two coats.  I used no base or top coat in these pictures.

I really like the amount of shimmer on the nail, it gives the polish a glow.  This is not a color I would typically go for, but I like it.  It's a really nice color for fall.

What do you guys think of Lumiere?  Is it your type of color?

Show Some Love Saturday

Hi everyone!!

A while ago, I shared Hocus Pocus by Sonia Kashuk, a deep purple polish.  Pam from Girly Bits commented wondering how her Hocus Pocus would look with it.  So I decided to try it out to see what the combination would look like.

I thought these two made such a great combination!!  It's my first time trying this holo topcoat over a dark shade.  It looks so rich and colorful!  I'm so glad Pam put this idea in my head.

Did you know that Pam had a blog?  She shares updates regarding upcoming collections (like her new P.S. I Love You collection) and anything going on with her store.  Go check it out here.

What do you guys think of this combo?  Are you a fan of holo topcoats?

Nicole by OPI - It's Possible!

Hi everyone!!

I have a polish to share with you today that isn't something I would pick up on my own.  My sister-in-law got be NOPI's It's Possible! and said that she was feeding my addiction, lol.  It's Possible! is a metallic rose.  It has a pretty good formula, but like many metallics is very "brush-strokey."  It is opaque in two coats though and dries very quickly.  Here I used no base or top coat.

Because metallic polish isn't my favorite finish, I didn't think I would like this polish, but I thought it was really pretty.  It's definitely a safe color and not very exciting, but I could see myself wearing it in the future.  Definitely with a glitter accent or two though ;0).

What do you guys think of It's Possible!?  Do you like metallic polishes?
