Sally Hansen - Triple Shine

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Today I have a few polishes from Sally Hansen's new line, Triple Shine.  This line should be hitting most stores in November, but I've heard on Instagram that it's been spotted already in some local drug stores.

Triple Shine Top Coat, Pixie Slicks, Dive In, and Vanity Flare
Triple Shine polishes are supposed to provide "non-stop shine" and "daily defense from water and wear."  There are a total of 29 shades.  I'll just be sharing three of them today.

Below you'll find another bottle shot, where the "Triple Shine" cap is removed.  You would then screw the smaller cap off.  You'll also see a shot of the brush, which is slightly wide, but not too much so.

Bottle shot/brush of Pixie Slicks.  Please forgive the weird lighting.
For application of this polish, it's recommended that you apply the polish to a clean surface, no base coat.  So that's what I did for all of these polishes.  The swatches are without top coat.

Pixie Slicks

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
Pixie Slicks is a bright pink with a crelly like formula.  Application was a bit of a pain with this one.  It was streaky and required three coats to level out.

Vanity Flare

Artificial Light

Artificial Light
Vanity Flare is a lovely purple creme.  Unlike Pixie Slicks, the formula was a dream to apply.  It was fully opaque in two coats.

Dive In

Dive In is my favorite of the bunch.  Such a beautiful shade.  I guess you can call it turquoise.  This too was a dream to apply and was opaque in two coats.

All of these polishes dried very quickly and to a beautiful shine.  Remember, I used no top coat for these swatches.

I decided to test out these polishes with the top coat, but of course, I needed to make it fun if I would be wearing it for a few days.  Here's what I came up with.

Triple Shine Skittle Mani

Triple Shine Skittle Mani (Thumb included)
You may have noticed some bubbles on a few nails.  That made me very sad.  The top coat is really thick, which is a good thing, but it wasn't drying with the shine I'm used to with Seche Vite.  So, I decided to add another coat.  I think that's what caused the bubbling problem :(.    Anyway, I wore this mani for three days and not one chip.   Here it is on the third day.

Three days and not one chip.  I washed dishes, did some cleaning and it still looks great!
I wanted to test the wear of these polishes for a longer period, but you guys know I can't keep a mani for too long.  Between swatching and getting bored, I had to change.

For the most part I really like these polishes.  I just struggled with the top coat because I like my nails to dry quickly and this is not a quick dry top coat.  However, the trade off is that you have a mani that lasts for a while, which is great!

Have you seen any Triple Shine polishes near you?  Did you pick any up?  What do you think of these three colors?

You can see all of the colors that will be available of these polishes here.  I love that there is a mix of cremes, shimmers and glitters.  Triple Shine polishes will be available in drug stores for $4.99.

  10. I just found these at Walgreens in Edina, MN. The clear top coat is amazing-I only put on one coat and it was awesome! My nails lasted at least 3 to 4 days with no chipping! I do daycare and am washing my hands all the time and doing dishes etc. The only complaint I would have is it was really hard to get off!! I also had the green glitter one on for Halloween and that was even harder to get off. Which I guess is good, but I'm wondering if I should be using a different nail polish remover to take this off? I will buy this top coat again for sure and the other solid colors!

    1. Yes, removal is very difficult. I think the foil method would be best with these polishes.
