New Year's Eve Mani

Hi everyone!!! Just wanted to share my last mani of the year with you guys! I'm going to church, then going to bed. Exciting right, lol!

I initially wanted lots of bling, but couldn't decide on what glitter to use. So I decided to use an Essence Colour 3 polish that Deborah sent me. One end contains a very dark brown (almost black) polish with a bit of holographic shimmer and is called Ticket To The Show. The other end contains a gold/bronze shimmer polish called Front Row or Backstage.

I wanted my mani to be fun, so I did something different on each nail.
Thumb: Two coats of Ticket To The Show and a coat of Front Row or Backstage over 3/4 of the nail.
Index: Two coats of Ticket To The Show and a coat of Front Row or Backstage.
Middle: Two coats of Ticket To The Show.
Ring: Three coats of Front Row or Backstage.
Pinky: Two coats of Ticket To The Show, one coat of Front Row or Backstage and one coat of Victoria's Secret Supercharged.

I really love this combo. It's not my usual safe manicure, but it's really fun.

What are you guys wearing on your nails tonight? Any big plans?

2012 Favorites

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

Instead of doing a top 10, top 12, top 20 of 2012, I just chose all of my favorites this year.  Honestly, I just couldn't narrow it down.  I genuinely fell in love with these polishes and it just wouldn't be fair to leave any of them out!

The polishes I chose weren't necessarily released this year, they were just my favorites in 2012.  So here we go, in no particular order:

Color Club Wink, Wink, Twinkle.  Beautiful fuschia, sparkly glitter.  Need I say more?

Jessica Boyz'n Berry.  I love how soft this blue is!  And the formula is awesome!!

Hare Rad Cloud.  Such a fun take on pink!  I love this polish for when I feel like being girly and fun at the same time.

Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream.   I don't even know where to start with this one.  It's just so pretty and unique and PRETTY!!  Love it!!

Zoya Farah.  This is definitely my favorite nude EVER!!  I don't like many nude polishes with my skin tone, but this one is perfect!

The Polish Bar Cloudy Skies.  Gray and purple are such a beautiful combo and The Polish Bar did an awesome job with this one!

Andrea Fullerton Petrol in the Water.  The duochrome in this baby is to DIE FOR!!! I absolutely love it!!

A-England Galahad.  One of my all time favorite blues!!  The formula is so great.

Elixir Lacquers With a K.  This is such a unique and beautiful glitter polish. I haven't seen anything like it yet. Definitely a keeper ;0).

Color Club Revvvolution.  OPI My Private Jet's dupe (the 2nd version).  Such a gorgeous holo!

Color Club Love 'Em Leave 'Em.  A work appropriate neutral holo with a great formula!

Yes, I know Color Club released even better holos this year, but I haven't gotten to try those yet (too many polishes) and these still hold a special place in my heart.

Fierce Nails Berry Slushie.  A gorgeous purple franken from my twinsie Nory's from her Fun in the Sun collection.  Perfect for summer.

Estessimo TINS Color The Dreamy Magic.  This is the only polish I own by this brand.  It's such a beautiful girly shade, with gorgeous holographic glitter!

Aphrodite Auction is such a unique polish.  I love the blue square glitter and it's a great combo with the black glitter.

Barielle Elle's Spell is a polish I wanted badly and I when I got it, it didn't disappoint.  It's a gorgeous red and full of flaky goodness.  You can't go wrong with that combo!

I've gotten into more greens this year and my favorite is Brash Green Machine!! Such an awesome bright green creme that I love against my skin tone.

China Glaze Recycle will always be on my favorites list.  Forever!!!  This is the perfect gray creme.  That is all!

Cult Nails Manipulative.  Mint green with gorgeous shimmer, what's not to love!

Girly Bits Arctic Sunrise.  This polish is so, so pretty!!!  Such a beautiful blue and the pink shimmer really pops.  Definitely one of my all time faves!

Hits Apolo.  I'm sure you know by now that I'm a holo lover!!  This linear holo looks awesome even when you're not in the sunlight!!  And I'm a sucker for a nice deep blue.

Lex Cosmetics Tuileries.  I feel like this polish was made just for me, lol!  It's a creation of the lovely Amanda and is so girly.  Though it has lots of glitter it's not too in your face and I've actually worn it to work.  Love it!!

Loreal Brit Invasion.  This is my favorite brown this year.  The golden shimmer just makes this polish glow.

OPI Ogre-The-Top Blue.  I was so happy to get my hands on this gorgeous bright blue!!  An amazing creme, this color is absolutely beautiful!

Misa Frozen in Time. I'm a huge lover of dusty shades.  Add shimmer in there and I'm sold!  I love this dustly purple with very visible shimmer.  Very pretty.

Polished by KPT Disco Fever is full of sparkly, holo goodness!! I love this unique glitter.

Midnight Satellite is such a lovely shade of green.  With the holo microglitter, it reminds me of stars sparkling in the sky.

Sally Hansen Loyal Lavender.  Such a beautiful light purple with shimmer.  I love how girly it is.

Whimsical Ideas by Pam Ooh La La!  A lovely bubble gum pink with purple glitter.  The perfect girly combo!

The Hungry Asian Strawberry was my first from this brand and I was instantly in love!!!  It looks so good and makes me want strawberries every time I wear it, lol.

The Hungry Asian Mint Condition is the perfect mint green with a wonderful mix of colorful glitter.  Fun, but not in your face.  Love!!

Kleancolor Holo Chrome.  This polish is so full of scattered holo goodness!! Whenever I wear it, I'm distracted by its beauty.

Whoa!! Did I count that right?!  I only narrowed it down to 31.  Some people don't even own that many polishes, lol.  What can I say?  I love them all.

I know some of these had older pictures that weren't the greatest, but I just didn't have the time to redo swatches.  Hope you still like all my choices though.

What were your favorite polishes this year?

Sally Hansen - Blue Frosting

Hi everyone!!  Happy Monday!!  Can you believe it's the last Monday of the year?

For Monday Blues I have a sheer duochrome shimmer from Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength line.  I saw Blue Frosting at Walgreens and it looked so beautiful in the bottle, so I had to grab it.  It was much sheerer than I expected.  I thought it would be something I could wear on its own.  I used three coats in these pics with no base or top coat.

As you can see, there was still VNL after three coats.  While it's pretty, I wasn't a fan of how sheer it was.  I decided to apply one coat over black, Nicka K Noir.

It's totally awesome over black!  This is definitely how I will be wearing this polish from now on.  I love it!

What do you guys think of Blue Frosting?  I hope it helped take your Monday blues away ;0).  And I hope you guys have an awesome New Year's Eve!

Don't forget the other Monday Nail Blues girls:
Gosia from Life in Color!
Mihaela from Lacquer Buzz
Joanna from The Treasure Chest
Mandy from Chameleon Stampede

Nubzen Claus - Swatches & Review

Hi everybody!!

I have a few polishes to share with you from a new "to me" polish brand. I discovered Nubzen Claus on Instagram. Ty, the creator is a sweetheart and she has some awesome creations.

First up is Unicorn Drool.

Unicorn Drool has a sheer white base full of holographic shimmer and contains purple hex glitter and yellow, red, green and blue glitter shards. The formula is great!! It applied evenly, not streaky at all. It is sheer though, so there was VNL even after three coats. The glitter is sparse, which I like because it gives it a nice soft look. Here I used four coats with no base or top coat.

Isn't it pretty?

I decided to layer two coats over Orly Au Champagne to show it without VNL.

I really like Unicorn Drool on its own, but I LOVE it over white. So beautiful!!

Next up is Echo's Breath, a top coat with a clear base and iridescent glitter.  I decided to layer it over black (Nicka K Noir) and OPI Russian Navy (on my ring finger).

Echo's Breath applies really well. There is good glitter coverage with just one coat, I decided to use two though.

While I love them both over black and blue, I especially love it over Russian Navy because of the shimmer it has. Such a great combo!

The final polish I have to share is Poseidon's Storm. It's a navy blue jelly with small iridescent flakies. The first two coats were streaky when applied. I think I used coats that were too thin. For the third coat, I added a thick coat and it was way better.

I really like this polish. The combo of the blue jelly and the flakies are perfect together!!

I used no top coat for any of the swatches above, but Ty did send me a bottle of her Flash Dry Manicure Sealant. I added it to Poseidon's Storm here.

It applied easily, isn't thick and gave it a lovely shine. My nails were dry to the touch in less than two minutes. I'll be trying it on my manicures and share my thoughts regarding wear with you all.

What do you guys think of these polishes? Do you have a favorite? Have you tried any polishes from Nubzen Claus?

To check out Ty's etsy store, you can go here. Unicorn Drool is available now, but the others will be available next weekend.  Full size polishes are $8 and minis are $4.
