Liquid Glam Lacquer - Sugar Skull

Hi everyone!!

I wanted to do a quick post to share a polish that I just received from yet another new "to me" indie brand. Sugar Skull is described as a Milky white base with black hex, Square Teal and purple glitters.

Sugar Skull has a really great formula, but is very sheer. There was still VNL after three coats, but it's so pretty that it didn't bother me at all! I used Orly Nail Defense as a base and Seche Vite Fast Dry top coat.

I really love this polish, I just wish more of the blue glitter came out of the bottle.

What do you guys think of Sugar Skull?

Deborah Lippmann - Mermaid's Dream

Hi everyone!!

I have a Deborah Lippmann beauty that Nory sent me to share with you today, Mermaid's Dream!  Yep, Mermaid's Dream.  The lovely seafoam base with blue and green microglitter.  It has a really great formula, but requires three coats for opacity.  I used three coats here with no base or top coat.

This polish reminds me so much of the water.  Island water that is ;0).  It's such a beautiful shade of green and the glitter is really beautiful.  It does dry to a gritty finish, so top coat is definitely needed if you want a glossy finish.

What do you guys think of Mermaid's Dream?  Are you as in love with it as I am?

2 True - Shade No. 50

Hi everyone!!

Today I have a pretty purple that I received from Amanda.  She got it for me when she went to England.  She knows me so well ;0).

Shade No. 50 is a beautiful lavender crelly packed with silver shimmer.  It applied really well and while two coats could have worked, it was a bit sheer.  So I decided to add a third coat.  I used Orly Nail Defense as a base, three coats of Shade No. 50, and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

HAREpolish - Rad Cloud

Hi everyone!!  Happy Pink Wednesday!

I have a pretty indie to share with you today.  I've been meaning to try HAREpolish for some time now after seeing lots of swatches and I finally got around to making a purchase last month.

Rad Cloud is a light pink base with green and purple small hex glitter, orange, purple and pink microglitter.  There's lots of glitter in this polish, so there was great coverage with each coat.  It required three coats for full opacity.  I used no base or top coat in these pics.

Sindie POP! - Nightshifter

Hi everyone!!

I wanted to share a quick review of a polish I recently received from a new "to me" brand, Sindie POP! Lacquer. Nightshifter is described as a brown cream based polish with a blue-green duochrome.

Unique right?! The formula was really good, slightly brush-strokey, but it applied really well and was opaque in two coats. Here I used two coats with no base or top coat.

I also decided to try it over black. This is just one coat over a coat of Nicka K Noir. No top coat.

I really love the subtle shift to green in this polish! It's perfect for fall!

What do you guys think of Nightshifter? Is it your kind of polish?

LA Colors - Phenomena

Hi everyone!!

This Twinsie Tuesday, we were tasked with sharing our oldest polish.  Honestly, I don't know what my oldest polish is and even if I did, I probably showed it to you already.  So I decded to share a polish I've had for almost a year and still haven't tried.

I picked up L.A. Colors Phenomena at Family Dollar for .99 cents.  It looked like a pretty purple in the bottle.  However, when I applied it to the nail it was much darker and more of a plum.  The formula wasn't that great.  It was very patchy and because of that, I had to apply three coats for full opacity.  I used three coats here with no base or top coat.

To me, this was just an okay color and because of the formula, I don't think it's worth it to keep.  I just wasn't happy enough about it.

What do you guys think of Phenomena?  Do you have any L.A. Colors polishes?

It'll be interesting to see what the oldest polishes are for my twinsies.  Go check them out!

Jessica - Boyz'n Berry

Hi everyone!!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was very relaxing, but somehow I still wasn't ready for Monday :(.

For Monday Blues I have a pretty aqua polish to share with you.  Jessica Boyz'n Berry was on my wish list for a while and Nory sent it to me in our last swap.  It's a light aqua crelly that looks mint green in certain lighting.

The formula of Boyz'n Berry is great!!  The first coat was slightly streaky, but it evened out nicely with the second coat.  Here, I used two coats of Boyz'n Berry with no base or top coat.

I love, love, love this polish!! It's so gorgeous and creamy.  I kept staring at my nails when I had it on.  It also dried to a beautiful shine, which is awesome.

What do you guys think of Boyz'n Berry?

Essence - Modern Romance

Hi everyone!!

I have yet another polish from Nory to share with you all.  Essence Modern Romance is a beautiful peach creme with peach shimmer.  The formula is not the greatest.  It's so streaky, even after the second coat.  I was so saddened by this because I think the polish is so pretty.  I tried adding top coat, Beauty Secrets, to even it out, but it didn't work. Take a look:

Not cute right?!  This was the first time I experienced such a poor formula from Essence.

I wasn't ready to give up on this polish yet!  I decided to add some thinner to the polish because it was also a bit on the thick side.  Then, when applying it, I let  some polish drain off the brush so I could add thinner coats.  It naturally had a lot of polish because of the wide brush.

Here's the result (three coats and no top coat):

It was soooo much better after adding the thinner and using thinner coats.  The pinky is messed up because of me, not the formula. I'll definitely be trying this one again.  I really love the color and the slight shimmer it has.

Do you have Modern Romance?  How was the formula for you?

Polished by KPT Swatches and Review

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I recently received a couple polishes from Polished by KPT and wanted to share them with you.

First up is Bleu Tonic. It's described a .008 ultra fine glitter that appears clear in the bottle but once mixed or over another color gives you a spectacular sparkling color shifting hues behind. The glitter shifts from green to blue then purple. It has almost a mystical quality as their color shift catches your eye and sparkles in the light that moves across them.

I decided to layer one coat of Bleu Tonic over Orly Sapphire Silk. It applied very easily and evenly.

Sunlight

This is such a beautiful topper. I love the beautiful blue/green sparkle it has. I can't wait to try it over other colors.

Next is The Secret Garden. It has the combination of various colors and shapes. The fine and large green hex glitters represent the fresh green branches; the pink square and purple hex represent the flowers; and the holographic diamond cut glitters represent the sparkle and glamour. A majority of the glitters used are light-reflective, so when at different angles will display a magnificent rainbow effect.

I decided to layer two coats over Barry M Emerald Green.

Close up!

This is such a fun and unique glitter. I love the colors and shapes!

What do you guys think of these two polishes? Do you have a favorite?
