Comparison: Pure Pearlfection & Morgan Le Fay

Hi everyone!!

I have a comparison post for you today!  Some time ago my polish friend, Crystal, asked me to compare A-England Morgan Le Fay and Essie Pure Pearlfection.  She already had the A-England and was considering getting the Essie.  Take a look at the pic below to see if you notice a difference!

Artificial Light.  Layered over Orly Frolic.
Did you notice anything?  I layered Pure Pearlfection over the index and ring fingers and Morgan Le Fay over the middle and pinky fingers.  They are very similar, but Morgan Le Fay has a more dense shimmer.   Here's a bottle shot:

Just by looking at the bottle you can see that Morgan Le Fay is a lot thicker than Pure Pearlfection.  You can also tell which I use more right now, lol.

Here are a few more pictures with the polishes layered over Frolic:

Since these two are so close, I think if you have one, you really don't need the other.  Also, to just note the prices, Essie is usually sold for about $8 and can even be found for as low as $5.99. A-England on the other hand is about $13.

Thanks for reading!  I hope you found this post helpful.

AdorBeautySupplies - Pink Diamonds

Hi everyone!!  I have been thrown right back into craziness after the holiday!  Please don't think I've forgotten about you fellow bloggers if I haven't commented in a while.  I plan to play catch up soon.  I'm finding it difficult to even make time to respond to comments on my posts :(.  Anyway, on to happier thoughts!

This Pink Wednesday, I have another polish to share with you from AdorBeautySupplies.  If you missed my first post, you can check it out here.

According to the description on the Etsy shop, Pink Diamonds is a light pink shimmer polish with a orangey peach shine. It has pink glitter. This is a very unique polish, I have nothing like it.  Application was easy.  It applied evenly and was opaque in two coats.  The formula was a bit thick, but manageable.  I used no base or top coat in these swatches.

OPI - DS Sapphire

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!  For Twinsie Tuesday, our job was to share a holographic polish.  I was super excited about this one because holo is one of my favorite finishes.

I decided to use DS Sapphire, which was a present from Susan!  I love her for sending me this polish!  It's a sheer light blue holographic polish.  It's definitely a layering polish, so I layered it over two different polishes for you guys.

First, I have a coat over Daring Digits Girls Night Out.

AdorBeautySupplies - Tropical Surf

Hi everyone!! Happy Monday!  Are you feeling blue?  Monday blue that is?  I have yet another Etsy polish to share with you today.  I discovered AdorBeautySupplies while perusing Etsy and saw a set of four nail polishes (8ml bottles) for $9.51.  The colors looked nice so I decided to give them a try.  The polishes in the Beach Bunny four pack are: Tropical Surf, Pisces, Greed, and Hawt Pink.

Tropical Surf is a bright aqua frost and that's the polish I'm sharing with you today.  The formula of Tropical Surf was really good.  It was fully opaque in two coats and though there were brush strokes, there weren't too many.  I used no base or top coat in these swatches.

Layering Experiment

Hi everyone!!

I showed you Orly Frolic yesterday and mentioned that I had a layering experiment to share.  I was inspired by this beauty and felt like having some fun with it.  So first, I decided to add Max Factor Fantasy Fire.

Sunlight with one coat of Fantasy Fire

I really loved the outcome!  But then I wondered what it would look like with flakies on top of that.  So I added a coat of my go to flaky, Essie Shine of the Times.

Sunlight with one coat of SOTT

Artificial Light

Tell me that doesn't look amazing!!!  I was blown away by how shiny and pretty the mani was with these two additions!

As I said, I was in the mood for fun, so I added one more layer, OPI Rainbow Connection.  Rainbow Connection is such a fun and colorful glitter.

I really love how this experiment turned out!  The last two were my favorites!  I have to try some more experiments.  There are endless possibilities.

What do you guys think?  Which of the three combos is your favorite?

Orly - Frolic

Hi everyone!!

Today I have a polish I was lemming for quite some time.  Frolic is a beautiful neon pink/purple.  The moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it!  However, I would never see it in stores.  Recently, I received an Ulta coupon and while browsing the polishes, what did I find? Frolic!! I was so excited!

The formula for Frolic is good!  It's fully opaque in one coat and dries pretty quickly like most Orly polishes.  It's also a bit runny, but manageable.  It dried to a matte finish.

In these swatches, I used two coats of Frolic with no base or top coat.

Natural Light.  This was my first swatch with just one coat, but you can see the ring finger was a bit streaky and the middle finger had slight pooling near the tip.  Below are the second set of swatches.

I'm so in love with this color!!!  It's perfect for spring and summer.  Totally makes me feel happy, lol!  Tomorrow I'll share what I did next with this beauty!

Do you have Frolic?  Is it your type color?

Nerd Lacquer - Carbon Allotrope

Hi everyone!! Happy Friday ;0).

I have a Nerd Lacquer polish to share today!  Now I know there has been much controversy and hearbreak over this brand.  The store has been closed for some time and many are wondering whether it will reopen.  I prefer to not get involved with the drama.  I just hope that all is well with Amanda and we will see more beauties from her soon.

So why am I sharing a polish that isn't currently available you ask.  Because I took these pics a long time ago and forgot to share it then.  I hope you'll still appreciate the post.

Carbon Allotrope is a sheer jelly base with medium silver hex glitter, small silver glitter, and silver and white microglitter.  The base has a bit of a cream tint to it.  I think it's due to the white microglitter.  This is definitely a layering polish, but here you'll see it on its own.  I used three coats of Carbon Allotrope with no base or top coat.

This is a really unique glitter polish and I like it a lot.  I'm looking forward to layering it and trying different combos.

What do you guys think of Carbon Allotrope?

Daring Digits - Girls Night Out

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

I have the last of the three polishes I purchased from Daring Digits (I've already ordered more, btw.  Heehee!).  Girls Night Out is a dark grey base with pink and green highlights, according to Ashley's description.  This is a really pretty and unique polish.  It reminds me of a sheerer and more sparkly version of Sacred Ground.

Application of Girls Night Out was easy.  It required three coats for full opacity, but was not streaky or patchy.  I used Essie All in One Base, three coats of GNO and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

I really like this polish a lot!  It was one of those that I kept staring at throughout the day.  You polish lovers know what I'm talking about, lol!  My only regret was that I bought a mini of this one :(.  I'm going to layer this so I can stretch it out a bit.

Check out Ashley's shop here to see Girls Night Out and her other beauties!

Fair & White - Roma

Hi everyone!!

This Pink Wednesday, I have a polish from a brand that's new to me.  When I was visiting a local beauty supply store, I noticed a brand called Fair & White.  According to the bottle, it comes from Paris.  There were several colors, but as always, I usually choose a pink when first trying out a brand. It was $6.99.  I was a bit hesitant to spend so much on a brand I never saw or heard of, but I decided to take a chance.

Roma is a pink shimmer that was a bit sheerer than I expected.  Application was great though and it was fully opaque in three coats.  This is how it was packaged:

Isn't the box cute?  Anyway, on to the more important pics!  I used Essie All in One Base, three coats of Roma, and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

I really love how strong the shimmer is in this polish!!  And it's such a girly pink ;0).

What do you think of Roma?  Have you ever seen this brand before?
