Duri - Midnight Blues

Hi everyone!!!  Happy Monday! Just want to give my parents a shout out. They celebrate 35 years of marriage today. Happy Anniversary ;0).  Not that they read this, but happy anniversary anyway!

I've decided to jump on the "Monday Blues" bandwagon.  I first found out about it when reading Marta's post here.  Since I'm becoming more and more of a blue polish lover, I figured, why not.

I recently discovered a new beauty supply store that has lots of Duri polishes and I picked up a couple that looked really cool.  The cost was $4.99.  The one I'm sharing today is called Midnight Blues.  It's a navy blue with gold and silver microglitter.  It has a good formula and is fully opaque in two coats.

I used no base or top coat for these swatches.  And no, it didn't stain.

I think this is a nice polish.  It did dry to a gritty finish though, so it definitely needs a good layer of top coat.

What do you think of Midnight Blues?

Color Club - Wild At Heart

Hi everyone!!  Happy Sunday!  I hope you're all enjoying your weekend.

Today, I have a polish that I've wanted for quite sometime.  I visited a beauty supply store that I spotted on the drive home one day and what would I find smiling at me, Wild At Heart.  It was just waiting to be purchased and taken to a new home ;0). Wild At Heart is a beautiful deep purple holo that applies like butter.  It is fully opaque in one coat and dries very quickly.

In these swatches, I used two coats of Wild At Heart with no base or top coat.

I don't think I need to say anything more about this polish.  It's gorgeous!!!  I'm so glad I finally got my hands on it.

I got this beauty for only $2.99 at the beauty supply store.  Very happy about that ;0).

What do you think of Wild At Heart?  Your kind of polish?

OPI - DS Reflection

Hi everyone!!  Happy Saturday!!  I have lots of things in store today.  I hope you all get more rest than I do.

I have a DS polish to share with you today that I received from Kimber of Kimber's Lacquer Korner.  We did a swap some time ago and this pretty was one of the items included.

DS Reflection is a red scattered holographic that applied like butter and was opaque in one coat.  It also dried very quickly.  In the pics below, I used Essie All in One Base, two coats of DS Reflection, and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

This is a pretty polish, I just wish it had more of a holographic effect.

Water Marble

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!  So glad it's Friday.  And thankfully I'm almost back to myself.  I tell you, being sick is no fun.  I'm sure you guys know that already though.

I recently did a water marble that I wanted to share with you all.  I wanted to do something with blue and purple because I think those colors go so well together.  I used Rimmel Violet Metal, OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It!, and POP Beauty Baby Blue.

As I've shared in the past, I don't try to create a specific design, because then I just get frustrated at the fact that it doesn't come out the way I want it to.  Here's the mani:

Thumb.  This was my favorite.  Natural Light.

I love water marbling.  I get something fun every time.  Even though my index finger was looking kind of crazy and I had a few air bubbles here or there, it was really fun to look at.

Do you water marble?

OPI - My Address is "Hollywood"

Hi everyone!!  First, I'd just like to congratulate Maddy who was the winner of my 300 reader giveaway.  She's already been contacted and has responded.  She is actually the writer of the blog Blattitude Nails.  You can check it out here.  Secondly, thanks for the well wishes.  I'm a little better today, but still need to rest up before I'm 100% again.

Today, I'm sharing an OPI that was on my wish list for some time.  My Address is "Hollywood" is a pretty pinkish/coral (salmon?) polish with gold shimmer from OPI's 2011 Touring America Collection.  I'm so in love with this color!

The formula of the polish was a bit tough to work with.  It was still streaky even after three coats, I had to add a fourth coat to my ring and index fingers to try and even them out.  On the plus side, the polish does dry fairly quickly.

In the pics below, I used no base or top coat.

Please excuse the glitter on my hands.  It was just everywhere from my swatchfest.

I love this color of this polish.  The shimmer just makes it glow.  What I don't like is the amount of work I had to do to get adequate coverage.  I still plan to use it again.  It's so pretty.

What do you think of My Address is "Hollywood"?  Your type of polish?

Lex Cosmetics - Tuilleries

Hi everyone!!  Well, today I'm home sick.  Sore throat, congestion, headache.  This crazy weather finally got me.  I'll be sleeping a lot and loading up on Vitamin C today.

For Pink Wednesday, I have a beauty from Lex Cosmetics.  This is my first experience with the brand.  As soon as I saw swatches of Tuilleries popping up, I knew I had to have it, so I purchased it immediately.

I love how cute the bottle is
Tuilleries is a light pink jelly base with silver, orange, and red microglitter and purple, orange and red hexagon shaped glitter. It applied so easily and evenly. It has lots of glitter, so you don't have to fish for any. Two coats of the polish was pretty good, but I used three.

In these swatches, I used no base or top coat.

How gorgeous is this polish?  I'm so in love!!!!  Definitely one of my favorites.  Just looking at these pictures again make me smile at its beauty.

What do you guys think of Tuilleries?

This polish can be purchased online at www.lexcosmetics.com for $10.  It doesn't say the size, but it's about the same size as your average bottle of polish.  Oh, and $1 goes to charity.

Twinsie Tuesday - Skittle Mani

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to another Twinsie Tuesday ;0).

Today's theme was to post a skittle manicure.  For those who aren't familiar with this term, a skittle mani is when  you have a different polish color on each nail.  This was my first time doing one of these.  While I love the look, it is way out of my comfort zone to have a different color on each nail.  For me, it's one color for my manicure.  I'll throw in an accent nail, sure, but that's pretty much the extreme of it.  Also, a skittle mani is not very appropriate for my job.

On to the mani!  Here's a pic of the polishes I used:

Sally Hansen Fuschia Power, Revlon Lily, Sally Hansen Jade Jump, OPI Pink Friday, and POP Beauty Baby Blue
Can you tell I was going for a spring look?

Here's how the mani turned out:

For the base, I used Essie All in One Base and my top coat was Seche Vite Fast Dry.  I used two coats of each polish.

I really like the way this mani turned out.  It definitely put me in a fun mood.

What do you guys think?  Have you done a skittle mani before?

Don't forget to check out my twinsies!!  I'm looking forward to seeing what colors they chose.

E.L.F. - Red Velvet

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

In a recent conversation with two of my polish buddies, Crystal and Saira, I discovered that they both liked red polish, but had to be in the mood to wear it.  I was totally shocked, because I'm a total red lover and I can wear it anytime!  I think red is one of those classic nail polish colors that looks awesome on any skin tone.  So I told them it would be my job to make them become red lovers, heehee ;0).  Saira then promised she would try a red during the week and got Crystal on board.  So we decided to just post our reds on the same day.

For my red, I'm sharing Red Velvet by E.L.F. which I got from Target as a part of a holiday gift set.  The set came with 5 polishes and cost $5.  Of all of the polishes, the only I've used prior to this was Golden Goddess, one of my favorite glitters.

Red Velvet is a really pretty deep red shimmer that applied well.  It was fully opaque in two coats and had just the right consistency.  The only thing I wasn't too fond of was that it dried to a velvety finish.  It was weird for me.  I never had another polish dry that way.

In the pics below, I used Essie All in One Base and two coats of Red Velvet, no top coat.

I then added OPI Excuse Moi as an accent nail and a coat of Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

I really like Red Velvet, it's a lovely shade of red.  For me, it just needs a top coat for that shine.

Don't forget to stop by my girlies' blogs to see what reds they chose, and most of all, if they liked them ;0).

What do you guys think of Red Velvet?  Are you a fan of red nail polish?

OPI - Louvre Me Louvre Me Not

Hi everyone!!  Happy Sunday!

Today, I have OPI's Louvre Me Louvre Me Not, a beautiful deep plum shimmer from OPI's 2008 La Collection De France.  I remember seeing someone (can't remember who) referring to this polish on YouTube as a fall favorite late last year and added it to my wish list immediately.  I got my hands on it earlier this year (can't remember where) and was so happy to find it.  I can't seem to remember details these days, smh.  Anyhoo, I have it, it's beautiful, I'm happy ;0).

The formula for this polish was okay.  When applying it, it was a bit patchy, but the polish was fully opaque by the third coat.  In the pics below, I used three coats with no base or top coat.

This is such a lovely polish.  I love the color and the shimmer in it.

Did you pick up Louvre Me Louvre Me Not?  What do you think of it?
