LA Colors - Phenomena

Hi everyone!!

This Twinsie Tuesday, we were tasked with sharing our oldest polish.  Honestly, I don't know what my oldest polish is and even if I did, I probably showed it to you already.  So I decded to share a polish I've had for almost a year and still haven't tried.

I picked up L.A. Colors Phenomena at Family Dollar for .99 cents.  It looked like a pretty purple in the bottle.  However, when I applied it to the nail it was much darker and more of a plum.  The formula wasn't that great.  It was very patchy and because of that, I had to apply three coats for full opacity.  I used three coats here with no base or top coat.

To me, this was just an okay color and because of the formula, I don't think it's worth it to keep.  I just wasn't happy enough about it.

What do you guys think of Phenomena?  Do you have any L.A. Colors polishes?

It'll be interesting to see what the oldest polishes are for my twinsies.  Go check them out!

  1. LA Colors tends to be a miss for me. I has awful staining with Jungle Fever and it ruined the brand for me.

  2. I really like this color on you! I have many of the LA Colors still waiting to be tried too! I think because I know I didn't spend a ton of money on them, they get put to the back of my list. I don't even know if that makes sense, but that is ultimately my reasoning ;)

  3. I like the color, too bad the formula was bad. I have a ton of LA Colors polishes cause they're really cheap but I rarely use them haha. They're a hit or miss.

    1. It sure seems so. I have one other one. I'm hoping that's much better!

  4. The colour is a nice shade of plum/wine, but yeah, it's so different from the bottle! I'd be frustrated with the patchiness too, especially from a colour this deep. Maybe this is one for a "future franken" drawer. ;)

    1. Hmmm... Now that's an idea! I'll have to try something when I have the time.

  5. These patchy colors can be used for nailart like making gradients, dots, lines or just like Elizabeth said frankens...you can make a jelly polish out of it for making jelly sandwiches :)

  8. For the most part, I only try glitters & clear polishes with LA Colors. I do one cream but I don't remember how I liked it. This is a nice color and it looks great on you.
