Jessica - Banana Peel

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!  Happy Saturday!

I have another polish that Nory sent me to share with you.  It's one of my first Jessica polishes.  I've been dying to try this brand!

Banana Peel is a yellow creme.  It's not as bright as you would expect, given the name Banana Peel.  It's more of a pale yellow.   The formula was a bit on the thick side and very streaky, even after two coats.  It did even out on a few nails though, so I think it just requires extra care.  I decided to add Beauty Secrets top coat to see if it would make a difference, but you could still see some of the streakiness.

Banana Peel is not a color I would typically go for, but I actually liked it.  I just wish the formula was less streaky.

What do guys think of Banana Peel?  Do you wear yellow polish?

  1. I definately wear yellow and I do love this shade. I've never used Jessica but I did purchase the lime green colour from this collection so I will see if it as streaky. But I think even with two coats, your swatches look really good.

  6. These chalky pastels can be temperamental to get them not to look streaky. I find 'underwear' helps on some. I will use a sheer something like ones from Essie I have that I don't wear typically...but also what helps me when I have a chalky streaky polish is my base I use is Orly Nail Armor - it's got a tint to it that is like a sheer beige and I use 2-3 coats of it always..it's a ridge filler and base. i don't have ridges but I sure found it's 'the' base for me. It keeps colors true and really makes my polish application even. I also don't have any Jessicas - but want to try the brand...not sold where I am so I would have to mail order them - which I need to do for lots of things since I live in Tim-buck-too! I cannot pull off yellows well like lots of folks. I did see the spring collection this one came from and it was made up of a lot of similar white/chalky looking pastels. Those are just not great on me. Anything chalky tends to give me lobster hands.
