Pure Ice Pretty Nails Rock Event

Hi again everyone!!

Last night Amanda from Amandalandish and I got together to attend an event hosted by Pure Ice.  Since we're both in New York, Amanda was nice enough to invite me to the event.  Thanks again Amanda!

Here's a very dark and blurry pic of us:

The event was held at Beauty Bar on 14th Street, a salon/bar.  I'd never heard of it before.

The purpose of the event was to promote their upcoming Vinyl Remix line.  Very reminiscent to crackle, with Vinyl Remix, there is a base color and then a second color is applied.  However, with Vinyl Remix the base is always white and once the second coat is applied and dries, a color is revealed.  Another important difference is that you are able to create various designs based on the brush strokes you use.  Here are some examples of manis with Vinyl Remix:

As you see in some of these, you are able to do multiple colors to create a really fun and unique mani.

As guests, Amanda and I received complimentary manicures.  Here's a pic:

It's pretty obvious who the hands belong to, but just in case you were unsure, Amanda's is on the left and mine is on the right.
There were also refreshments.  Since I have such a sweet tooth, I took a pic of the table with the lollicakes.  The pink one was AMAZING!!!

Here's a closer look at my complimentary mani with Rock Star (blue).  All pics taken in artificial light:

The manicurist did a swirl pattern which is most evident on my ring finger.

Left hand

And a special appearance of my right hand :-/.
Notice that on my pinky, ring, and middle finger it looks just like regular crackle because the manicurist did straight brush strokes.
We were also given bottles of the various colors that will be released to try for ourselves:

The circular objects are nail files in the shape of vinyl records ;0).

The colors are:
Rave (Orange)
Glam Rock (Pink)
Emcee Me (Yellow)
DJ Spinner (Green)
Rock Star (Blue)
Vintage Remix (Purple)

I plan to try out a few combinations to share with you all.  I'm sure there will be a learning curve with this.  Most of you know I'm not a crackle fan.  It'll be interesting to see what I can come up with for these though.

Vinyl Remix polishes will be available on April 12th at Walmart and will retail for $6.49.  You can visit pureicecosmetics.com for free design tutorials.

Be sure to visit Amanda's blog here to read about her experience.  Do you think this is something you will try?

  6. Looks like a fun event! And cool that you got so many freebies! I must say, though, that the cakes appealed to me more than the crackle-style polish :p
