Avon - Strawberry

Hi everyone!!  Before I share my Pink Wednesday polish with you all, I just want to say thank you to Hannah for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award.  Since I received it in the past, I'll just link my previous post here for you all to check out if you're interested.  Thanks again Hannah!!  I really appreciate the nomination.

This Pink Wednesday, the polish I'm sharing with you all is Avon Strawberry, one of their Speed Dry polishes.  I love this pink, it's a nice vibrant color.  It doesn't look like the color of a strawberry at all, so I'm not sure why it was given this name.  Speaking of strawberries, it's absolutely my favorite fruit!! I could eat them every day.  Wish they were in season right now :-(.

Strawberry is a creme polish and application was fairly easy.  The formula was just right, not too thick or too thin.  The first coat, was a bit streaky, but it leveled out and was opaque in two coats.  It also dried pretty quickly with a glossy finish, which I really liked.

Here are the pics of Strawberry (no top coat):

I then decided to try a tape mani with this polish which turned out to be a semi-fail.  For this mani, I used Orly Star Spangled.  On my ring finger, I used Sinful Colors Nail Art Fashionista (a silver glitter).  I topped it off with Seche Vite fast dry top coat.

Flash.
I started to get impatient and applied the top coat too early on my middle finger.  So we'll pretend that the smudge is a design ;0).
Flash.
I also think the line of glitter on my ring finger should have been thinner.

I almost didn't share the photos of the tape mani because it could have been so much better (do you see the perfectionist in me coming out?).  But, I decided to post it.  I have to share the good, the bad, and the ugly, lol.

All in all, I think this came out okay.  I just have to be patient and a bit more precise with my tape in the future.

Have you tried any tape manis?  What do you think of Strawberry?

  2. I love strawberries! It's pretty much the only fruit I can properly digest. I think the tape mani came out great! I'm impatient too and this happened to me several times with the top coat. We really have to learn patience!

  4. That pink really pops on you! And the way you accented your nails is very creative.

Hehe, I'm usually very impatient when it comes to adding a top coat. I have to literally force myself to wait longer. But sometimes I don't wait long enough and smudge the design.

  5. I think you did great! Tape mani's are so much harder than they look! It takes me forever to do mine since I am so OCD about my lines, and it's an art in itself to make sure the tape is completely stuck down, etc. I dig it!
